“”An innovative approach to keep the doors open at independent aged care facilities is being championed by an MIA woman.
Karen Hodgson from Cypress View Lodge in Coleambally is part of a move to establish a cooperative between nine other providers.
She says independent facilities, in particular, are struggling under the burden of regulations that have hit the sector in the wake of the Aged Care Royal Commission.
Ms Hodgson hopes the project will save her outlet and others in a 200-kilometre radius, from Borowa to Hillston to Hay.
“My hope is this will keep us viable,” she said.”
